On June 8, 2009 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue 2 stamps depicting flowers “Scorzonera” and “Snowdrop anemone” from the series “Flora. Endangered plants of Belarus”.

Note: This FDC send to Taiwan via Austria, and Austrian Post has a yellow "R" tag affixed .

(1)Kaliady is the main winter holiday connected with the day of winter solstice. It was celebrated from the 7th till the 19th of January and later was adopted for Christmas celebration by the Christian Church.
(2)Spring greeting is an ancient heathen ceremony opening the cycle of celebrations designed to awake mother Earth from the winter sleep. In different regions the celebration began in different days from Shrovetide till Easter.
(3)Kupalle is an ancient ceremony festival timed to summer solstice when the lands fertility is reaching its biggest power. Following the introduction of Christianity Kupalle was timed to the Nativity of St John the Baptist and now it is celebrated in the night from July 6 to July 7.
(4)Dazhynki is an ancient Belarusian holiday dedicated to harvesting. Traditionally it was celebrated on the last day of rye reaping.

"On March 31, 2009 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the stamp “Grey goose” from the series “A bird of the year” prepared by the Publishing Centre “Marka” of theEUR“Belpochta”.
The stamp is issued with the assistance of the public organization “Ahova ptushak Batskaushchyny” (Protection of Homeland Birds).
The public organization “Ahova ptushak Batskaushchyny” declared the grey goose a bird of the year 2009.
There are logos of the International organization of birds protection "BirdLife International" and Belarus public organization "Ahova ptushak Batskaushchyny" (APB) on the stamps."-Belpost

"The icon Holy Virgin of Iljinsk Chernigov, the 18th century, is from the Greek St. Catherine monastery in Kiev. Now it is kept in the collection of the National Kiev-Pechersk Historic-Cultural Preserve.
The icon Christ Pantocrator, 1678, is from St. Nicolas Church of Pinsk in Brest region. Now it is kept in the collection of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.
Grand Prince Vladimir from the Deesis row, the 15th century. It was in the collection of I. S. Ostroukhov. Now it is kept in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow."-Belpost

“Holocaust” is a word of Greek origin meaning “sacrifice by fire”. The Holocaust was the systematic, bureaucratic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of Jews by the Nazi regime and its collaborators in the period of 1933-1945 according to the Nazi ideology of Race. The Nazis and their collaborators created Jewish ghettos on the occupied territories. Minsk ghetto was one of the largest in Europe. About 100 000 people were killed in Minsk ghetto. It was destroyed 65 years ago.
